A law firm in Dallas is seeking a Mid-level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Patent Agent. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in biomedical or mechanical engineering, coupled with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products. The candidate must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and possess a high level of academic achievement, along with solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience. Superb writing and communication skills are essential for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Assisting in patent prosecution for medical devices and mechanical engineering innovations.
  • Collaborating with inventors, engineers, and legal colleagues to understand and evaluate technical concepts.
  • Drafting and preparing patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
  • Conducting thorough patent searches and analyzing prior art.
  • Providing support for legal research related to patent prosecution efforts.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products will be considered.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • High level of academic achievement.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
