A law firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intellectual Property Patent Agent for their office in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution, specializing in mechanical applications related to engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspensions, control systems, consumer products, and medical devices.

Job Overview:

  • Drafting patent applications related to mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Assisting with patent prosecution, including responding to office actions and communicating with patent examiners.
  • Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses.
  • Collaborating with attorneys and clients to develop patent strategies and provide technical expertise.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current patent laws and regulations.

Duties:

  • Drafting patent applications for mechanical inventions.
  • Conducting prior art searches to assess patentability.
  • Assisting attorneys in patent prosecution activities.

Requirements:
