Job Overview:

A prominent national law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney with 6+ years of employment-based immigration experience to join its Washington, D.C. office. The role focuses on handling complex visa matters and managing client relationships across various business immigration matters. This position offers the opportunity to lead client engagements, supervise legal teams, and contribute meaningfully to an established immigration practice.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a wide range of business immigration matters, including:

    • H-1B, PERM, I-140, AOS, E-1/E-2, O-1, L-1, and TN petitions

  • Assess visa eligibility and develop tailored immigration strategies

  • Manage immigration casework, timelines, and client communications

  • Conduct regular client status calls and provide updates on immigration matters

  • Supervise and mentor junior associates, paralegals, and support staff

  • Collaborate with firm partners and senior attorneys on large-scale immigration projects

  • Maintain compliance with changing immigration regulations and procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of employment-based immigration law experience

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and high-volume caseloads

  • Experience in client interfacing, case strategy, and process management

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar

  • Admission to the D.C. Bar or eligibility for prompt admission preferred

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and written/oral advocacy skills

  • Attention to detail and organizational excellence

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective team leadership and mentoring abilities

  • Proficient in immigration case management systems and legal software
