The ideal candidate will collaborate with Senior Attorneys and Partners to deliver high-quality legal services to clients, particularly in oil and gas law. They will draft oil and gas title opinions in North Dakota, prepare large, unit-wide divisions of interest, and navigate overlapping spacing units. Exceptional communication, writing skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Draft oil and gas title opinions by North Dakota regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare large, unit-wide divisions of interest, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Navigate overlapping spacing units and address associated legal complexities effectively.
  • Collaborate with Senior Attorneys, Partners, and other legal professionals to provide clients with timely and accurate legal counsel.
  • Conducted legal research, analyzed findings, and presented recommendations to support client objectives.
  • Review and interpret contracts, leases, and other legal documents related to oil and gas transactions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and legal proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
  • Experience practicing law with a focus on oil and gas matters.
  • Proven experience drafting oil and gas title opinions in North Dakota.
  • Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide divisions of interest and addressing overlapping spacing units.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
