A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Global Projects Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of experience in major projects and transactions, particularly in the energy and infrastructure space. The ideal candidate will have expertise in energy transition practices such as renewables, hydrogen (H2), carbon capture and storage (CCS), LNG, or electric power sectors. They should have played a pivotal role in major transactions and project development matters, possess strong drafting skills contract analysis capabilities, and demonstrate the ability to analyze and synthesize new information, along with a keen interest in the energy industry and clients' businesses.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with partners and clients on significant projects and transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Provide legal counsel and support on energy transition practices, including renewables, hydrogen (H2), carbon capture and storage (CCS), LNG, or electric power sectors.
  • Act as a key member of a team handling major transactions and project development matters.
  • Supervise and manage junior associates, working closely with partners.
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to project finance, development, and implementation.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on regulatory and compliance issues within the energy industry.
  • Analyze and synthesize new information pertinent to energy projects and transactions.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders in the energy sector.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in major projects and transactions, preferably in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of Texas.
  • Proficiency in energy transition practices, including renewables, hydrogen (H2), carbon capture and storage (CCS), LNG, or electric power sectors preferred.
  • Strong drafting skills and contract analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate closely with partners.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine interest in the energy industry and a solid understanding of clients' businesses.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of Texas.
