Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is currently seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience managing the entire discovery process, from preservation to production, and will support case teams and clients in litigation, transactional matters, compliance, and government investigations. The candidate will be responsible for creating and managing case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols, collaborating with other attorneys, technologists, and clients. A focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility is key to ensuring successful case outcomes.

Location:

  • Austin, TX.

Duties:

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all discovery phases, including preservation, filtering, and production.

  • Provide expertise in pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition, witness preparation, and trial preparation when applicable.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to create and manage tailored eDiscovery workflows and protocols.

  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work and deliverables for Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

  • Mitigate risks and control costs throughout the eDiscovery process while focusing on defensibility.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of evolving eDiscovery laws, regulations, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing in the state where practicing.

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in discovery and eDiscovery matters.

  • Proven expertise in advising clients and case teams on all aspects of discovery.

  • Strong knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

  • Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the state bar where practicing.

Skills:

  • Strong in-depth knowledge of eDiscovery processes and tools.

  • Proficient in Relativity and other eDiscovery platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work with both legal and technical teams to create effective eDiscovery solutions.
