Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in single plaintiff employment litigation in Cerritos, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-7+ years of experience in employment litigation, including handling harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims.

Duties

  • Defend single plaintiff claims in state and federal court.
  • Handle complaints and charges before the CRD, EEOC, and California Labor Commissioner.
  • Provide general employment-related advice and counsel.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Engage in law and motion work, including dispositive motions and arbitration.
  • Prepare case evaluations for clients.
  • Manage cases proactively.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations, including drafting mediation briefs.
  • Attend court hearings and argue dispositive motions.
  • Participate in arbitration and trials.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California.
  • 3-7+ years of employment litigation experience.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • California State Bar admission.

Skills
