The candidate should have substantive law firm experience in commercial litigation. Experience with legal malpractice law is a plus. Possesses strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code. Should have experience preparing pleadings; preparing discovery demands and responses; motion practice; appearing in court; taking and defending depositions; and preparing for and participating in mediations and settlement negotiations. Must have private law practice experience, with some experience taking responsibility for client matters (with supervision) and disciplined contemporaneous time entry. Should have experience independently identifying issues and anticipating/recommending strategies in litigation. Must be an active member of the State Bar of California and in good standing.

The candidate should have strong academic credentials. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Should have strong legal and factual/investigative research skills. Must have exquisite attention to detail and accuracy. Should be committed to excellence and has a strong work ethic.
