A law firm seeks a skilled attorney with a minimum of two years of experience in civil litigation to join its Labor & Employment department in Los Angeles, California. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney eager to manage a wide array of labor and employment cases, including cutting-edge issues and complex client matters. The role is ideal for someone passionate about both single-plaintiff employment litigation and wage & hour class action litigation.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment-related legal matters, including wage and hour class actions and individual employment disputes.
  • Provide expert legal counsel on a variety of employment law topics, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage disputes.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on labor and employment law developments.
  • Engage in client communications, advising clients on legal rights and strategies.
  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and court appearances as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation and case strategy development.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of junior associates.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on labor and employment law preferred.
  • Proven experience with wage and hour class action litigation is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated, with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of labor and employment law, including state and federal wage and hour regulations.
  • Strong litigation experience and ability to handle complex legal matters.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
