Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Transactional Associate to join its Financial Services practice in Charlotte. The role focuses on representing capital providers, including lenders and private equity investors, in a wide range of debt and equity investment activities. This position offers significant exposure to diverse financial structures, including acquisition, growth capital, and financing transactions, and provides the opportunity to work across all levels of the capital structure.

Location:

  • Charlotte, North Carolina

Duties:

  • Represent lenders in commercial lending transactions

  • Advise alternative investment vehicles on debt and equity investments

  • Represent private equity fund investors in control and minority equity investments

  • Support portfolio companies in acquisition, sell-side, and financing matters

  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and investment agreements

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure and close complex transactions

Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of transactional experience

  • Background in finance or corporate law preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex deal work across multiple industries

  • Strong interpersonal skills and business-oriented legal judgment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar preferred

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously

  • Client-focused with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach

  • Effective at handling complex capital structures and investment strategies

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing deadlines
