Duties:

• Build and manage a client base, leveraging an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Contribute to and collaborate with the firm's legal teams across various practice areas.
• Provide high-level legal counsel and representation in areas such as Government, Business, and Litigation Defense.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contributing to business development.
• Take on cases across diverse areas including Local Government Law, Public Finance/Economic Development, Commercial Real Estate, Trusts & Estates, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Labor & Employment Counseling & Litigation, Tax, Cybersecurity & Data Privacy, Business Litigation, Complex Litigation Defense, White Collar Criminal Defense, and Construction Litigation.
• Ensure that all legal work complies with local, state, and federal laws.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the professional development of the team.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active license to practice law in NC and/or VA.
• Demonstrated ability to originate business with a portable book of clients generating $200,000+ annually or proof of similar business development experience.
• Strong entrepreneurial drive with a passion for expanding a practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload while maintaining high-quality legal services.

Education:

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar Membership in NC and/or VA.

Skills:

• Strong business development skills and the ability to maintain and expand a client base.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Government Law, Corporate Law, Litigation, Trusts & Estates, Tax, etc.
• Excellent writing, research, and legal analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal issues.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
