Job Overview:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in patent-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while actively seeking opportunities for business growth.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution and related proceedings.
  • Draft and review patent applications, office action responses, and legal opinions.
  • Perform patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments.
  • Advise clients on intellectual property strategy and portfolio management.
  • Handle patent litigation and disputes when necessary.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state and registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Experience practicing patent law.
  • Strong understanding of patent law principles and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Preferred:

  • Background in chemical/biochemical arts or electrical/physical arts.
  • Experience in medical devices.
  • Existing book of business or demonstrated ability to attract and retain clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in at least one state.
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
