A law firm in Islandia, NY is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their busy and growing Matrimonial/Family Law practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills and be willing to appear in court.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with various aspects of matrimonial and family law cases.
  • Conducted legal research and drafted legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, and trials as necessary.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and tactics.
  • Participate in client meetings and consultations.
  • Manage caseload and deadlines effectively.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and legal developments in matrimonial and family law.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in matrimonial or family law preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to appear in court and advocate on behalf of clients.
