Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Construction Defect Defense Attorney to join their team in Columbia and Charleston. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in complex litigation, values client collaboration, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Defend developers, contractors, sub-contractors, and design professionals in construction defect and related insurance defense matters.
  • Manage cases from initiation to resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediation, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Develop legal strategies and work directly with clients as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Licensed South Carolina attorney in good standing; North Carolina license is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction defect, general liability, or insurance defense.
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina
