Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Litigation Attorney to represent clients in all phases of litigation, primarily in matters involving general liability. The ideal candidate will attend court appearances, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, negotiate settlements, and provide legal advice to clients. Strong preference is given to candidates with backgrounds in General Liability, Professional Liability, Healthcare, or Labor and Employment. The candidate must be admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and have 0-5 years of litigation experience.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including initiation, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses, depositions, and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
• Communicate closely with clients throughout litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports, and advice.
• Utilize knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
• 0-5 years of experience in litigation.
• Experience in General Liability, Professional Liability, Healthcare, or Labor and Employment preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in Lexis software.
