Experienced Aviation Litigation Attorney

Seattle office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an experienced aviation litigation attorney with 3-10 years of experience in a range of complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters in state and federal courts. The candidate will be managing all aspects of litigation, including initial case evaluations and budgets, handling and assisting with communications with clients, opposing parties and affiliated parties, assisting with or developing case strategies and managing case schedules. Handling all aspects of discovery, including preparing and responding to discovery requests, handling and/or overseeing aspects of e-discovery and defending and taking depositions, and managing motion practice at all stages of a proceeding. In addition to handling hearings in federal and state court proceedings and/or at arbitration, handling settlement conferences and mediations, including preparing and providing strategy regarding position statements or settlement offers, and preparing for and/or handling trials, arbitrations, or aspects of them. Working on complex high-stakes trials, disputes, and arbitrations for clients in the aviation industry facing accident claims or commercial claims. Prior litigation experience involving the aviation industry is preferred. Must have an active Washington or Oregon State Bar membership. Trial and arbitration experience, being a team player with a drive towards entrepreneurship, and excellent oral and written communication skills are also important.

The candidate must have an engineering, aviation, aeronautics, or another technical litigation background. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. Must have the ability to handle a variety of matters simultaneously to meet client demands. Must have excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
