Job Overview: A law firm specializing in regulatory energy matters is seeking a talented Regulatory Energy Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience, including a demonstrated interest in energy regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on energy regulatory issues, including FERC regulations, rulings, and precedents.
  • Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and other documents related to regulatory proceedings.
  • Assist in preparing clients for hearings, meetings, and other regulatory proceedings.
  • Analyze and interpret complex regulatory statutes, rules, and policies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop regulatory strategies and provide legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of legal experience, with a focus on energy regulatory matters preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in energy law and regulatory issues, particularly before FERC.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Track record of insightful research and analysis, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Persuasive writing abilities, demonstrated through legal briefs, memoranda, or other written work products.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar, active and in good standing.

Education:
