A law firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney for its Winston Salem, NC, location. The ideal candidate should have 2-6 years of legal experience and must possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal support in the drafting and prosecution of patents. The role requires expertise in intellectual property law, particularly in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields. Candidates with design engineering experience in chip companies are preferred.

Duties:

  • Drafting patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Conducting patentability and infringement analyses.
  • Managing patent portfolios and advising clients on IP matters.
  • Collaborating with inventors and technical experts to understand inventions.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of legal experience.
  • Experience with drafting and patent prosecution.
  • Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar.
  • Design engineering experience with a chip company is a plus.
  • Preferably familiar with networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless network, or related technologies.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts.
