A law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a skilled Financial Services Regulatory Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate should be adept at handling multiple workstreams involving consumer and business financial services laws and regulations at both the federal and state levels. Experience in representing clients before the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and state regulatory agencies is a plus. The ideal candidate will be analytical thinkers with excellent academic credentials and strong writing abilities. They must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction’s Bar. The position requires 2+ years of experience.

 

Duties:

  • Handle multiple workstreams involving consumer and business financial services laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on financial regulatory matters.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state financial regulations.
  • Represent clients before regulatory agencies such as the CFPB, FTC, and state regulators.
  • Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and regulatory filings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial services laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to provide effective legal counsel.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction’s Bar.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services regulatory matters.
  • Experience representing clients before regulatory agencies (CFPB, FTC, state regulators).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (Required)

 

Certifications:

Admission to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction’s Bar (Required)
