A law firm based in Elmwood Park, NJ, is seeking an Immigration Attorney. The attorney will primarily handle immigration matters related to family-based cases and removal defense. This role requires frequent travel to local USCIS and EOIR offices. The ideal candidate must possess strong legal document drafting skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities, and be detail-oriented to interact effectively with a diverse clientele.

 

Duties:

  • Providing legal representation in immigration matters, including family-based cases and removal defense
  • Conducting client consultations and case evaluations
  • Preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and motions
  • Representing clients in immigration court hearings and proceedings
  • Conducting legal research and staying updated on immigration laws and policies
  • Communicating with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Providing ongoing legal advice and guidance to clients

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Jersey
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in family-based immigration and removal defense
  • Strong legal document drafting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of New Jersey
