A law firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resources Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience and will focus primarily on energy regulatory and renewable energy matters.

 

Duties:

  • Handle energy regulatory proceedings at the state level, including rulemaking and traditional/non-traditional rate cases.
  • Provide legal counsel on energy policy matters and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist clients with community solar programs, electric vehicle charging station deployment, and retail energy supply contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and draft various documents, including memoranda, pleadings, and agreements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to achieve successful outcomes in legal matters.
  • Stay updated on developments in energy law and advise clients accordingly.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
  • 2-5 years of experience practicing law, preferably in energy regulatory matters.
  • Strong understanding of state regulatory processes and energy policy.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality client service.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
