A law firm in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Associate Attorney with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited school and admission to practice in the State of Arizona. The candidate will be responsible for managing cases, conducting legal research, attending court hearings, and supporting firm operations. Knowledge of litigation processes and superior analytical skills are required.

 

Duties:

  • Understand all client policies and procedures and conduct all firm business within those guidelines.
  • Research and understand laws, statutes, constitutions, regulations, court rules, and industry trends to conduct firm business accordingly.
  • Prepare cases, attend court hearings, and conference calls, and consult with client witnesses.
  • Complete the discovery process, develop case strategies and testimony, and handle filings, motions, and submissions.
  • Supervise paralegal and other support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Monitor case schedules, expedite requirements, and obtain and forward information as necessary.
  • Support the firm and clients by maintaining open communications and keeping the firm informed of any workflow issues or policy changes.
  • Maintain cost standards by monitoring expenses and recommending cost-saving opportunities.
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes and implementing changes.
  • Stay updated with legal developments by participating in continuing educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited school.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Arizona.
  • Superior analytical skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes from suit filing through judgment enforcement.
  • Experience in creditor’s rights law is a plus.

 

Preferred Certifications:

Certification in creditor’s rights law or related field is advantageous.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
