Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney in Washington, D.C. to address various issues under federal securities laws, including Investment Company Act status issues and opinions, broker-dealer and investment adviser status issues, and the setup of alternative investment platforms. Much of the work involves technology and early-stage companies. SEC experience is strongly preferred.

Duties

  • Advise on Investment Company Act status issues and opinions.
  • Address broker-dealer and investment adviser status issues.
  • Counsel on broker-dealer and investment adviser registration and compliance.
  • Assist in setting up alternative investment platforms.

Requirements

  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with technology and early-stage companies preferred.
  • SEC experience strongly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
