Job Overview
A prestigious law firm based in Seattle, WA, is looking to add an experienced Estate Planning & Probate Attorney to their growing team. This full-time role offers a hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to work on a wide range of estate planning, probate, and guardianship matters. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong legal research and writing skills, as well as practical knowledge of civil procedure, court rules, and estate-related legal processes.

Duties

  • Draft probate filings, including petitions, oaths, notices, orders, and declarations.
  • Prepare estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Create trust and estate inventories and accounting, working with clients to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Communicate and meet with clients, guiding them through complex legal matters.
  • Assist clients in emotionally challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff on case matters.
  • Utilize drafting software for document creation and legal tasks.

Requirements

  • Membership and active standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship/Conservatorship, or Elder Law.
  • Strong understanding of civil procedure and local court rules, particularly for King County and Washington State.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Practice Master/Tabs or similar practice management software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Washington State Bar License (required).

Skills

  • Excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters independently and efficiently.
