Job Overview: A law firm in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Counsel/Partner to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising on a wide range of employee benefits matters, including qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and benefits issues in transactions, with a preference for ESOP transactions. The candidate should possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) and be licensed to practice law in Oklahoma.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and strategic advice on employee benefits matters to clients.
  • Advise on qualified retirement plans, including design, implementation, compliance, and governance.
  • Counsel clients on executive compensation arrangements and related regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and compliance of health and welfare benefit plans.
  • Guide clients on fiduciary governance matters related to employee benefit plans.
  • Offer legal support and guidance on benefits issues in transactions, including ESOP transactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience advising on employee benefits matters.
  • Proven experience with qualified retirement plans.
  • Familiarity with welfare plans preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation and benefits issues in transactions.
  • Preferred experience with executive compensation matters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Oklahoma.
