Job Overview: A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Patent Lawyer with at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience, particularly in areas such as 5G, Wi-Fi, wireless technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills and excellent academic credentials. An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred. The candidate must be registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office ("USPTO") or eligible for registration, admitted to and in good standing of the Bar, or eligible for waiver.

Duties:

  • Conducting patent prosecution activities, including drafting patent applications, responding to office actions, and conducting examiner interviews.
  • Providing legal advice and opinions on patentability, validity, and infringement matters.
  • Conducting patent searches and prior art analysis.
  • Collaborating with inventors, engineers, and clients to understand and develop patent strategies.
  • Managing patent portfolios and providing strategic guidance on intellectual property matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Experience in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, wireless technologies, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front end.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Registered with the USPTO or eligible for registration.
  • Admitted to and in good standing of the Bar or eligible for a waiver.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office ("USPTO").

  • Ability to analyze complex technical concepts and legal issues.
