Foreclosure Attorney

A law firm in South Burlington is seeking a Foreclosure Attorney to oversee the foreclosure process in the State of Vermont. The ideal candidate will fulfill the following roles and meet the qualifications:

Job Overview:

• Oversee and work closely with support staff in drafting and reviewing all documentation necessary to complete a judicial mortgage foreclosure in the State of Vermont.
• Represent the interests of mortgage lenders and/or servicers in all stages of the foreclosure process.
• Review all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
• Attend and argue motions and other hearings before the courts.
• Work closely with and provide legal counsel to foreclosure clients throughout the process.

Duties:

• Draft and review all documentation necessary for judicial mortgage foreclosure in Vermont.
• Handle related matters, including debt disputes and defense to counterclaims.
• Oversee all stages of the foreclosure process, from demand to recording of foreclosure deeds.
• Represent mortgage lenders and/or servicers in foreclosure proceedings.
• Review all required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
• Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently.
• Attend and argue motions and hearings before the courts.
• Attend mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
• Provide legal counsel to foreclosure clients throughout the process.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Admission to the bar in the State of Vermont required; admission in other New England states a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Must be admitted in Vermont or willing to waive into Vermont.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Vermont; admission in other New England states is advantageous.
