Job Title: Discovery Counsel

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a Discovery Counsel to serve as the primary liaison between merits counsel, client teams, and review teams, ensuring efficient management of discovery projects. The role involves overseeing multiple teams, preparing documentation, monitoring daily activity, and providing project progress while adhering to timelines and budgets. Strong analytical, project management and communication skills are essential, along with a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and 2 years of relevant experience.

Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between merits counsel, client teams, and review teams.
  • Manage multiple teams to efficiently move data through the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Prepare documentation for matter support, including project specifications, tracking, review manuals, and reports.
  • Monitor daily activity, provide status reports, and administer feedback to first-level reviewers.
  • Communicate regularly with QC and leadership teams to ensure exceptional work-product generation and adherence to established timelines.
  • Possess working knowledge of litigation technology, including key applications and databases such as Relativity, Concordance, Cellebrite, and Clearwell.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills and attention to detail to evaluate production set quality through complex queries and metrics.
  • Develop reports, processes, and systems to generate predictable results for large and complex projects.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to both review and QC teams.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate/JD degree required.
  • 2 years of experience in managing large document review teams.
  • Experience in managing quality control processes for document review projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-management skills.
