A law firm in Newark, NJ is seeking an Immigration Attorney to provide legal advice and representation to clients on immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in immigration law, excellent legal skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding legal services to clients. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on immigration matters.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents with USCIS, DOS, EOIR, and other government agencies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Monitor immigration policy and regulatory changes and provide guidance on compliance.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure efficient and effective representation of clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients.
  • Handle a significant caseload and meet minimum case completion metrics.
  • Conduct consultations for potential new clients.
  • Work with paralegals through case processes.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to work within a team setting.

 

Requirements:

  • Active Bar membership in New Jersey or New York in good standing.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2 years of immigration experience, ideally removal defense.
  • 3 years of experience in drafting/writing legal documents.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of immigration law.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
