Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney to join its Construction Practice Group. This role is designed for a seasoned litigator with a strong background in construction law, particularly in handling complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate will bring trial experience, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to manage cases from start to finish. This opportunity is open across multiple office locations in Texas and offers a competitive compensation package and a collaborative team environment.

Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate construction disputes, including pre-trial and trial responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements

  • Conduct depositions, oral arguments, and participate in courtroom proceedings

  • Develop and implement legal strategies for construction claims and defense

  • Communicate with clients regarding legal options and case developments

  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams across various offices

  • Engage in legal research related to construction law, contracts, and insurance defense

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of construction litigation experience

  • Prior experience in trial preparation and courtroom appearances

  • File responsibility, motion practice, and deposition experience required

  • Familiarity with insurance defense processes preferred

  • Ability to manage a complex caseload efficiently

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas (Required)

Skills:

  • Advanced legal writing and research skills

  • Persuasive oral and written advocacy

  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities

  • Proficiency in construction law and familiarity with industry contracts and standards

  • Effective client communication and relationship management
