A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-level Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of commercial transactional/M&A experience at a law firm. The ideal candidate should have experience with private equity and/or venture capital clients, as well as managing multiple matters simultaneously. A J.D. degree and strong academic credentials are required, and the candidate must be admitted in (and in good standing with) or taking steps to become admitted in the applicable jurisdiction (New York).

 

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate M&A agreements, including purchase agreements, merger agreements, and related documents.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations and prepare related reports.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients throughout the M&A process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as corporate, tax, and regulatory departments, to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in M&A law.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted in (and in good standing with) or taking steps to become admitted in the applicable jurisdiction (New York).
  • 3-5 years of commercial transactional/M&A experience at a law firm.
  • Experience with private equity and/or venture capital clients is preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in (and in good standing with) or taking steps to become admitted in New York.
