Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to provide proactive client care and exceptional legal representation in handling cases primarily focused on Texas Criminal Law.

Duties:

• Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including but not limited to arraignments, pre-trial hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and arguments.
• Communicate effectively with clients, prosecutors, judges, and other case parties.
• Negotiate plea agreements and settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
• Advocate for clients in court proceedings, presenting evidence and arguments compellingly.
• Keep clients informed about the status of their cases and provide guidance and support throughout the legal process.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files, documentation, and correspondence.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated experience in criminal defense law, with a preference for Texas Criminal Law expertise.
• Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
