Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior associate with experience in executive compensation, employee benefits, and employment laws to join its corporate practice in New York. The firm provides expertise in pensions, executive compensation, employee benefits, and employment matters across various sectors, including public and private companies, financial institutions, and investment funds.

Duties

  • Advise on Sections 83 and 409A of the Code.
  • Develop cash-based and equity-based incentive compensation plans.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, consulting, and severance contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA and Code provisions for benefit plans.
  • Interpret Title I of ERISA from fund and investor perspectives.
  • Navigate key labor and employment laws, including wage and hour regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Strong drafting skills and sound judgment.
  • Superior client service orientation and work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple deals and matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative spirit.
  • Membership in good standing with the New York bar.
  • Experience with employment law disputes and investigations preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
