A law firm is seeking a Construction Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of experience to join their dynamic team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have a background in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on construction litigation, and must be adept at all phases of the legal process. The role involves representing secured creditors and receivers in state court insolvency proceedings, managing construction litigation cases, and collaborating with clients and partners.

Job Details:

  • Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation, including fact investigation, legal research, drafting discovery, preparing pleadings, taking and defending depositions, participating in mediations, communicating with opposing counsel and clients, and appearing in court for motions and pre-hearing proceedings.
  • Prior law firm and insurance litigation experience preferred.
  • Admission to the Colorado Bar is required.
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree.
  • Represent secured creditors and receivers in state court insolvency proceedings.
  • Strong writing, communication, analytical, and legal research skills.
  • Outgoing, collegial, and collaborative demeanor.
  • Responsiveness to clients and partners, with the ability to accept project responsibility.
  • Distinguished academics and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
  • Admission to the Colorado Bar.
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree.
  • Prior law firm and insurance litigation experience.
  • Preferred background and interest in construction litigation.

Education:

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Colorado Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong writing, communication, analytical, and legal research skills.
  • Experience with construction litigation and arbitration.
  • Knowledge of construction defects, bond and lien claims, delay and disruption, payment disputes, and indemnity/subrogation.
  • Familiarity with contracting documents, including AIA.
  • Ability to manage and synthesize large volumes of documents and track multiple issues in a case.
  • Experience locating and analyzing real property records and title policies.
