A law firm located in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Defense Litigator Attorney with 7+ years of commercial litigation or insurance defense experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of a pre-trial caseload, including taking depositions, preparing and answering discovery, preparing and arguing motions, preparing trial documents, and related work. Pennsylvania Bar admission is required, with New Jersey and/or Florida Bar admission considered a plus. The candidate should have an established book of business with a portable client base and possess knowledge of Pennsylvania state and federal court rules, court practices, and civil filing procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and strong analytical, writing, and research skills are essential. Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of a pre-trial caseload, including taking depositions, preparing and answering discovery, preparing and arguing motions, preparing trial documents, and related work.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in defense litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Argue motions in court and represent clients in hearings and other proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and stakeholders.
  • Track and monitor case developments and deadlines.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar; New Jersey and/or Florida Bar admission considered a plus.
  • 7+ years of commercial litigation or insurance defense experience.
  • Established book of business with a portable client base.
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania state and federal court rules, court practices, and civil filing procedures.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar; New Jersey and/or Florida Bar admission considered a plus.
