Law and Motion Attorney (Employment Law)

A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Law and Motion Attorney to join its Employment Law Department in Los Angeles, California. Duties

• Draft and prepare various legal documents, including motions, oppositions, and motions for summary judgment.
• Conduct legal research to support motion practice and prepare persuasive arguments.
• Collaborate with other attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Review and analyze case files, preparing briefs and responses promptly.
• Attend hearings and provide legal representation as needed for motion-related proceedings.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation.
• Provide recommendations to senior attorneys regarding case developments and legal strategies.
• Assist in other litigation tasks as required, including preparing for depositions and trial preparation.

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.
• At least 1 year of experience in law and motion practice, with a focus on civil litigation.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of legal work.
• Exceptional writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to draft clear, concise, and compelling legal documents.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to present arguments effectively in hearings.
• Strong research and analytical skills to evaluate case law and support legal arguments.
• Professionalism and discretion in managing sensitive client information.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• California Bar License required.

• Expertise in law and motion practice, particularly within civil litigation.
• Strong knowledge of employment law principles is highly preferred.
