Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience in employment law and/or general civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in substantive litigation, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice. While prior experience in employment law is preferred, it is not required. This role offers exposure to both individual and class action employment matters and provides the opportunity to handle administrative proceedings involving federal and California employment agencies.

Location:

  • Irvine, CA

Duties:

  • Handle all phases of civil litigation, including:

    • Written discovery

    • Depositions (both defending and taking)

    • Law and motion practice, including drafting dispositive motions

  • Support employment litigation and counseling matters

  • Manage claims under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and California Labor Code

  • Represent clients before administrative agencies including:

    • California Civil Rights Department

    • California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE)

    • Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of civil litigation or employment law experience

  • Demonstrated experience with litigation processes such as discovery, depositions, and motions

  • Prior exposure to employment-related administrative proceedings is advantageous

  • Employment law experience, especially with class/representative claims, is preferred but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the State of California

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and advocacy abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment

  • Collaborative team player with a client-focused approach
