Associate Attorney for New York City office

A law firm located in New York City, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their bankruptcy law practice. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience and must be admitted to the New York State Bar. Newly admitted attorneys may also be considered. Duties:

• Assist senior attorneys in bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and pleadings.
• Attend court hearings, conferences, and meetings with clients and creditors.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, and other parties involved in bankruptcy proceedings.
• Review financial documents and assist with bankruptcy planning and strategy.
• Handle administrative tasks related to bankruptcy cases, including filing documents with the court and managing case files.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Strong academic background and legal research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
