A law firm in Seattle is seeking a highly skilled Construction Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience, emphasizing construction disputes involving lien and bond claims, as well as claims associated with schedule delay and scope changes. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal research, writing and analysis, motion practice, drafting written discovery, e-discovery processes, and the review and analysis of construction contracts. Additional experience in taking and defending depositions, as well as arbitration and/or trial, is preferred. The candidate should possess a top academic record, excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, self-motivation, and a passion for excellent client service.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research, writing, and analysis related to construction disputes.
  • Engage in motion practice and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft written discovery and participate in the e-discovery process.
  • Review and analyze construction contracts.
  • Take and defend depositions (preferred).
  • Handle arbitration and/or trial proceedings (preferred).

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience with an emphasis on construction disputes.
  • Focus on lien and bond claims, as well as claims associated with schedule delay and scope changes.
  • Top academic record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about excellent client service.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admitted to the State Bar of Washington.

 

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Motion practice.
  • Drafting written discovery.
  • E-discovery processes.
  • Review and analysis of construction contracts.
  • Deposition skills (preferred).
  • Arbitration and/or trial experience (preferred).
