Job Overview

Duties

  • Defend clients in employment-related claims.
  • Investigate claims, analyze liability, and develop strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft letters, memos, motions, and pleadings.
  • Prepare discovery requests and take/defend depositions.
  • Represent clients at court conferences, hearings, and mediations.
  • Communicate regularly with partners, associates, and clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Current California bar admission, in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience, employment law background preferred.
  • Excellent writing and attention to detail.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Team player with strong interaction skills.
  • Self-starter with organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Understanding of state and federal procedures.
  • Comfortable with court appearances and depositions.
  • Trial experience preferred, but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
