Commercial Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

A law firm in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Commercial Bankruptcy Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience. The successful candidate will contribute to the firm’s representation of debtors and creditors in various corporate restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings, and mass tort cases. The role involves handling discovery, drafting legal documents, and conducting research. The candidate should have excellent academic credentials outstanding communication skills, and be admitted to practice in North Carolina or willing to obtain admission.

Duties:

• Contribute to the firm’s representation in corporate restructurings, bankruptcies, and related proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of discovery from initiation to conclusion.
• Draft and file pleadings and briefs.
• Review and interpret developments in bankruptcy law at state and national levels.
• Assist in the firm’s mass tort bankruptcy team, including litigation.
• Research and draft materials for manuscripts and presentations.
• Delegate tasks to paralegals and support staff.
• Perform other legal functions and special projects assigned by partners.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of bankruptcy experience.
• Bankruptcy Court or Federal District Court clerkship is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bachelor’s degree with a preferred emphasis in bankruptcy or litigation.

Certifications:

Admitted to practice in North Carolina or willing to obtain admission.
