A law firm in New York City is seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation (Patent) Associate Attorney with experience in patent litigation. The preferred candidate will have an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, materials science, physics, or an equivalent field. An advanced degree or industry experience is a plus. Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Handle patent litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to patent infringement and validity issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with discovery, including document review and preparation of discovery requests and responses.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in patent litigation.
  • Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, materials science, physics, or an equivalent field.
  • Advanced degree or industry experience is a plus.
  • Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in the Patent Bar (preferred).

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of patent law and litigation procedures.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
