General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a dedicated General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in general liability law, with a strong ability to conduct legal research, draft various legal documents, and represent clients in court proceedings.

Duties:

• Conduct file reviews and perform legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Maintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hours
• Regularly represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
• Prepare for trials and attend as necessary
• Be prepared for some travel as required

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in general liability law; experience in other practice areas is a plus
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in the states of NY and NJ; admission in other states is a plus
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, and work effectively in a team environment
• Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admission to practice in the states of NY and NJ; admission in other states is a plus
