A law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney for their Cleveland, OH, location. Here are the job details and requirements:

Job Overview:

The Litigation Attorney will manage a caseload primarily focused on medical case review and negotiation/settlement in the pre-litigation stage. They will also handle legal documentation, client communication, and case management.

Duties:

  • Review policies, claims, and other records related to medical cases
  • Negotiate and settle cases in the pre-litigation stage
  • Prepare, write, and argue legal documents, including memos, theories of liability, and demands
  • Communicate with insurance companies to manage client medical treatment and billing
  • Provide case status updates to clients and conduct intake meetings with new clients
  • Manage docket of cases according to office policy
  • Conduct and attend IME's (Independent Medical Examinations), EUO's (Examinations Under Oath), and recorded statements
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Requirements:

  • Must be currently licensed in the state of Ohio and in good standing
  • 2-5 years of experience in personal injury law
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and writing skills
  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively through both verbal and written electronic correspondence
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar
  • Any additional certifications related to personal injury law or litigation would be advantageous
