Job Title: Attorney 

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Pittsburgh, PA, is actively seeking a Litigation Associate to support its growing insurance defense practice. This role offers a collaborative, mentor-supported environment where attorneys can gain significant litigation experience, interact directly with clients and the judiciary, and advance professionally in a dynamic legal setting. Duties:

• Analyze intricate legal issues and factual circumstances; conduct thorough and strategic legal research

• Develop, articulate, and implement tailored defense strategies for assigned matters

• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and legal briefs

• Handle depositions of fact and expert witnesses, as well as de bene esse depositions

• Engage in ongoing communications with clients, carriers, and internal team members

• Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in line with firm procedures

• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials

• Prepare witnesses and evidence for all phases of litigation

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (additional admission in NJ or DE considered an asset)

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in litigation, preferably in an insurance defense setting

• Familiarity with the litigation process, including discovery, motion practice, and oral arguments

• Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads independently

• Strong legal research and persuasive writing abilities

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills

• High level of precision, accountability, and professional integrity

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Pennsylvania State Bar membership

• Additional State Bar admissions are beneficial
