A law firm is seeking an Environmental Litigation Counsel in San Diego, CA.

Job Overview:

The Environmental Litigation Counsel will lead and manage the environmental litigation team, overseeing attorneys and support staff. This role involves managing discovery, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, making court appearances, and contributing to case strategy discussions.

Duties:

  • Assist with leading and managing the environmental litigation team, including attorneys and support staff.
  • Manage discovery processes, including written discovery, depositions, and document analysis.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings and complex motions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research.
  • Make necessary court appearances.
  • Participate actively in case strategy discussions, offering innovative ideas.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
  • Collaborate closely with other attorneys on cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • 10+ years of litigation experience, focusing on environmental/toxic torts.
  • Proficiency in Adobe, Excel, and Microsoft Office and am familiar with E-Discovery and law programs such as Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, and OneLegal.
