Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Domestic Relations Attorney to join its Personal Injury Department in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will manage family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, domestic violence, and property division, providing empathetic guidance to clients during challenging situations.

Duties

  • Represent clients in family law and domestic relations cases, including litigation, mediation, and negotiation.
  • Advise clients on divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, and domestic violence issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court orders.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and apply statutes, case law, and regulations to client matters.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and paralegals to ensure efficient case management.
  • Stay current on changes in family law statutes, regulations, and case law.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar and in good standing.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar and in good standing.
  • 5-10 years of experience in family law or domestic relations litigation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of family law statutes, procedures, and court rules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, mediation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Empathy and professionalism in dealing with clients in sensitive and emotional situations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
