Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Chicago, IL, in collaboration with a legal recruiting agency, is seeking a dedicated Labor and Employment Associate to join its team. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in employment-related litigation and a collaborative mindset, with a preference for individuals who are licensed in New York and have strong academic achievements. While experience in traditional labor law is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Duties:

• Manage employment-related disputes across various jurisdictions

• Handle all phases of litigation, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation

• Represent clients before federal and state courts and administrative agencies

• Advise employers on compliance with labor regulations and internal policies

• Draft legal documents, including memos, briefs, and contracts

• Support senior attorneys in complex legal matters and strategic planning

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent client service

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on litigation experience in the employment law arena

• Admitted to practice in New York

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Exceptional writing, research, and oral advocacy skills

• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality legal services

• Willingness to work with teams across multiple office locations if necessary

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing)
