The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in collective bargaining, union elections, strikes, picketing, and handling unfair labor practice cases before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Duties:

  • Manage multiple complex legal matters simultaneously, from initiation to resolution.
  • Provide legal counsel on various labor and employment law matters.
  • Represent clients in collective bargaining negotiations, union elections, strikes, picketing, and unfair labor practice cases.
  • Work closely with a team of attorneys, offering support in high-level strategic matters.
  • Deliver exceptional client service through quality legal work and adherence to billing expectations.
  • Contribute to business generation efforts and client relationship management.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards within the legal profession.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in labor and employment law, specifically with matters like collective bargaining, union elections, and NLRB cases.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of cases independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in advancing a career in litigation.
  • Proficiency in billable hours and client service expectations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois or Missouri (or eligible to become licensed).

Skills:

  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to consult and collaborate with other attorneys on client matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for interactions with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Leadership ability, particularly in delegating tasks and managing junior staff or support teams.
