A law firm in Columbus is seeking a Transactional Associate Attorney to join its Construction group. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience in negotiating and drafting design and construction agreements. Familiarity with industry-standard construction and design forms is preferred, and experience in real estate development, large industrial capital projects, or construction claims resolution is a plus. The candidate should possess strong academic credentials, a strong work ethic, excellent writing and research skills, and the ability to establish robust client and peer relationships.

 

Duties:

  • Negotiate and draft design and construction agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel and support on construction-related matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to construction law.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings, hearings, and negotiations on behalf of clients.
  • Handle legal documentation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

 

Experience:

2-6 years of experience in negotiating and drafting design and construction agreements.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in which the law firm operates.
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience in transactional law, with a focus on construction agreements.
  • Strong understanding of construction law and industry practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
